  22. This presumes an entire alt.binaries.vb.* hierarchy, which hardly seems
  23. likely or appropriate.  Single newsgroups should avoid extra levels of
  24. hierarchy in the name, unless there's good reason to expect companion
  25. newsgroups which will use those extra levels, to be created shortly
  26. afterwards.  In this case, either alt.binaries.vb-source, or
  27. alt.binaries.visual-basic, would be more appropriate, since it's very
  28. unlikely that there would be any other alt.binaries.vb.* groups.

  30. However, the suggestions that "vb" or "visual-basic" would be more
  31. appropriate than a version-specific name are dead-on.  Please drop
  32. the "4" from whichever form of this name you adopt, so that the name
  33. will not cause needless confusion among current users of earlier
  34. versions, not to mention future users of later versions.
